Visit of the Governor of Kuzbass to the Avexima Siberia Plant

Governor of Kuzbass Ilya Seredyuk held a working meeting at the Avexima Siberia plant (part of the production division of the pharmaceutical company Avexima). The discussion of regional pharma industry development plans, as well as strategic partnership issues between business and government, was attended by Ivan Khalepo, CEO of Avexima JSC, the plant’s management, and representatives of the administration of the Anzhero-Sudzhensk Urban District.

The main topics of the meeting were strengthening national drug security, import substitution, and increasing the region’s industrial potential based on Avexima Siberia LLC with the support of the Government of Kuzbass.

During his visit, Ilya Seredyuk inspected the new line for manufacturing ampoule drugs, noting that the plant’s development is «very important for the systematic diversification of the Kuzbass economy». The Governor added that the plant’s operations represent «a real contribution to the health of Kuzbass residents and a tangible example of effective import substitution».

«Today, the plant faces tasks to expand the output of full-cycle drug products, launch new dosage forms, modernize capacities, and enhance infrastructure reliability. To achieve these goals, the five-year investment program from 2023 amounts to over 1.2 billion rubles. For maximum effect, we need to synchronize our efforts with the region», stated Ivan Khalepo.

Sergey Gerasimov, General Director of Avexima Siberia, outlined plans to renew the product portfolio and modernize the plant’s capacities.

«By 2028, we plan to bring 38 new drugs to the market. Investments in their development, technology transfer, research, and registration exceed 650 million rubles. This is a key pillar of import substitution, which is why we are focusing on the development of our production site. The plant must regularly launch new products with confirmed quality», reported Sergey Gerasimov.

He added that, to expand production capabilities, the company is implementing a project to modernize the aseptic line at a cost of over 150 million rubles. Sergey Gerasimov also specifically addressed the need for systematic personnel training within the region and the development of engineering infrastructure to enhance the resilience of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Following the meeting, the plant management and the leadership of Avexima asked the Governor to consider support measures for the enterprise in several areas.

«We view the Government of Kuzbass as a strategic partner. For its part, Avexima is ready to invest in the development of the site, expand its drug portfolio, and create new jobs in the region», emphasized Ivan Khalepo.

«We will do everything possible to ensure that development and renewal programs receive all the necessary support», stated Ilya Seredyuk.
